Almost 120 years of tradition characterize our club in Hanover, which has always been run and developed by rugby enthusiasts - from its founding to the present. Here, enthusiasm for the most beautiful sport in the world and the friendly atmosphere of a local club play an important position. Rugby at VfR. Since 1906. Where else?

Rasenspieler" – this is what the oldies of the 1954 championship team call the red-and-white VfR players in memory of past days. And this lettering still adorns the jerseys of the rugby players, with a club tradition of almost 120 years.

Our men's team currently plays in the Rugby Regionalliga Nord, the 3rd highest German league. The children’s and youth section has teams of all ages. Our clubhouse is idyllically and conveniently located on the edge of Hanover’s Eilenriede, very close to the H-Bismarckstr. train station. You can reach us from the main station in only about 7 min by S-Bahn.

VfR is a club with a long tradition and a club where many players from different nations have always trained and played. We are always looking for new players of all ages, with and without rugby experience. Become a part of the red family now!
